The house I didn't buy
Discussion
Before I moved up here full time I tried really hard to buy an old ruin of a house, in the best location I've ever found in Britain - unfortunately the owners didn't want to sell, and (to my utter despair) it has been falling down for the past 10 years. I went there this morning for the first time this year and am glad to see that over the winter they have started doing it up. The nearest house to it is about a mile away and unless you knew the track you'd never find it (You'd really have to own a Landy to live there). Stunning place... below a snap of the house, and then a photo taken from the 'garden' (a secluded bay with mooring for a boat). The loch is the Atlantic Ocean.

It looks rubbish 750 wide, so click below for a 1200

Steve, where is it that in relation to Shieldaig?
I may take a drive up there on Saturday or Sunday..
Leave Shieldaig and drive towards Torridon. About half way you reach 'West Lodge'I may take a drive up there on Saturday or Sunday..
Third walk down on this page: http://www.stevecarter.com/ansh/walks.htm is the walk - and at the furthest part, you'll find the house. (Walk is only 1 hour, so not a trek).
