Testing lambda sensor off car

Am I right in thinking I can test my lambda sensors off the car by plugging in a multimeter to the connector and then passing the flame of a blowtorch over the sensor end?

I don't think so - I think multimeters can damage our type of sensors - I'd look into it more if I were you before trying it

Yea, just realised they are three pin anyway.

I'll wait till I've got the battery reconnected, then plug them into the loom and test with a blowtorch (engine out) and a laptop.

Normally they have a built in heater to get the sensor working quicker, hence the third pin. Earth/ sensor O/P /heater. They do not measure heat but exhaust gas so I don't think using a blow torch will work and may damage it. + the O/P value changes that quick you would have to uses a multimeter with a needle (non LCD) as it would not register anything.
