I was with my gf for about 8 months, had great times etc. About a month ago she decided that we should go on a break, which turned to her just wanting to be single while she sorted herself out.

Fair enough I thought as much as it hurt, had a few in depth conversations with her about us over the past few weeks which ended in me deleting her from my facebook and deleting her number. Anyway, I hadnt heard from her for around a week and a half when I get a random friend request from her on Wednesday. I add her and she starts talking to me, she has some time off so I ask if she fancied meeting up (she lives a fair distance away). She seemed very keen and was talking about her having some days free and wanted to sort something out.

Sent her a message last night asking if she had figured when she was free and she replied on facebook earlier saying that she was out so couldnt text back. Shes realised she is too busy now to see me. I am obviously rather annoyed so I tell her as much and it escalates. She tells me im being like a child and pathetic for telling her I cant be friends with her because of the way I feel and that deleting her off facebook reminds her of a 14 year olds behaviour. I am also told I shouldnt tell her what to do (I said if she wanted to sort us out to ring me).

So she goes on about not knowing what how she feels about me and not knowing what the future holds and it gets to the point where she is telling me that we need to get over each other. I think fair enough thats it, its over, no chance of being together now or in the future.

I tell her; ok then, im done talking about our relationship stuff now i cant be bothered.
She replies with, ok lets leave it...for now.

For now? Youve just told me its done and dusted you arent sure if you love me and you are getting over me...WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU SAY FOR NOW.

So I deleted her again from my facebook. People tell me I should expect to hear from her again but im not so sure.

I just had to vent this out because its been driving me mad.

What is it with women.

She's chasing another bloke and hasn't landed him yet so is keeping you as a fall-back. Drop her. Don't look back.

1. You are acting like a child with the whole Facebook thing....so what if you have her as a mate or not on it.

2. You have split up.....forget what she has said, and move on. She's had her chance, and spoilt it. Her loss

3. Now get out and have some fun.

Sounds like a bit of a generalisation.
I've NEVER had this situation with women.
Mind you, I've never decided that just because a 'relationship' finishes you can't be friends. What's with the 'deleted her off facebook and deleted her number'..?

Back to school? I don't think I understand that reference.

No I deleted her off my facebook because I know that I will find it tough to see her on there everyday until I am over her. I don't think that is too unreasonable? She has my mobile number so can contact me like that if she wishes, but constantly seeing updates about her life when I log on would be quite difficult.

That. She wants a guilt free casual fk with some random or other and assumes if it doesn't pay off or she needs someone to talk to about periods and all the other crap you will be there with open arms.

Tell her she's a manipulative cow and a worse shag than your own left hand. And never let her darken your doors again.

Jesus wept.

Bring back National Service.

Facebook is for women, homosexuals, children, and predatory paedophiles.

Go out with some real mates and have a good time.

I can sympathize with the OP for deleting her off facebook.

For those that see this as childish you have to appreciate that that new pictures popping up of the ex out having a good time with blokes etc can be quite hurtfull - Out of sight out of mind springs to mind here wink .

To the OP from my experience and what has already been mentioned on here - Move on, Girls will always play silly games to keep you keen such as the "for now" comment so they are in your mind and you have some hope of getting back with them.

Any more random friend requests should be ignored and DO NOT go down the fk buddy route with her as this will also end in tears.

From my experience I would say just cut ties for good and say you're not interested any more and there wont be any thing happening in the future, having it drag on wont do you any good if you still have feelings for her.
As hard as it may be to hear, it does sound like she might be using you as a fall back at a moment incase she doesn't find anyone else.
The facebook deleting/readding thing was a bit silly, although it can be a good thing to permanently delete her so you dont get her updates photos etc of what shes doing, which could remind you of her and make you want her back.

I kind of dragged on a relationship a bit like she has with you, until I realised it wasn't doing my ex any good and was causing me problems as well.

It will be hard but it will be worth it when you find someone new who really appreciates you and doesn't want to mess you around.

The married man she is seeing still hasn't left his wife, he probably promised he would "soon" which is why she cooled things however in the back of her mind she's not sure he ever will so keeps in touch..
