I am wanting to buy a three letter .com domain name, ideally starting with a, b or c. Other than typing every combination of letters into the Register1 search box, is there a better way ?
Decide on the name you want, contact the company who own it, and offer them upwards of $50k. Job done.Other than that, you won't get one as every single one went years ago, and even if they expire they will be handed to domain banks straight away.
Sorry.

Not sure if your that naive that you thought you could just buy for £10 and sell for £10K + or you think other people are that stupid?
Three letter names will only be available on the secondary market and will cost you $x,xxx+ depending on how good they are. If one might drop it'd be picked up in seconds by one of the many automated systems set up to find them. You wouldn't have a chance.
You might be able to get a three character name a bit easier (i.e number, letter letter) but I'd be surprised if there were any of those left either.
What do you actually want it for?

Thanks, just the info I was looking for. You might be able to get a three character name a bit easier (i.e number, letter letter) but I'd be surprised if there were any of those left either.

Letter, number, number or number, number, letter would both work fine.
The name will be used for a high-end production company (still and HD film equipment for advertising and magazines) to be based in London and New York.
