Looking for a family tent with a large living area and decent hydrostatic head (3000mm plus) and good in the wind.

We are 2 adults and two kids of 9 and 6 (or 1 adult and 3 kids according to my wife!)and a mad springer spaniel and are well experienced with European camping where the weather is nice but would like to do more in this country too.

Our last camping experience in this country was August bank holiday just outside Betws-y-Coed, Snowdonia where we got soaked and freezing for a week, even the dog was shivering! Luckily we had a pub at the campsite gates we practically lived in! We loved it but would like to make life more comfortable if the weather is poor.

What do people recommend?

Have a look at outwell. They are very good. Easy to put up and waterproof. The bigger ones have a lot if space and multiple bedrooms.

We have an Outwell Montana 12 is very big.
Easy to put and has enough room to sit inside and the kids to play when it's raining.

Thanks for all the advice.

In the end we went for a Coleman Mackenzie Cabin 6.

Put it up in the garden last night, very good tent and I paid £350 for it in the end.

Camping in the Peak District this weekend and guess what the weather forecast is biggrin Should be a tester!

Cheers
