Rover V8 , without question the most technically advanced standard bore 3.5 ltr engine ever. This engine was campaigned by Tim Garlick in a 1972 Mk3 Cortina weighing in at 2,700lbs and achieved a best time/speed of 7.70 @167 mph at Santa Pod raceway. The engine was developed by ICE automotive and on its removal from Tim Garlick's car was fully freshened with new rods and with further upgrades to the oil and cooling system. Its hard to place a value on the engine development but would be in the region of £45,000 to £50,000.+++++

Err, no. A 1950's Buick pushrod engine the most technically advanced ever?

rofl

Then maybe, not now.

No. No it won't. The first sentence of your original post is total rubbish. The engine you picture may well have had a lot of money spent on it, but FFS it is still a 1950's Buick cast off. It is definitely not the most technically advanced engine ever.

I'm sure the engine you picture is an awsome piece of engineering modification.

If you are thinking of putting that in a TVR, it will definitely need a spoiler on the back smile

I think the OP's first line should read, "Without question the most technically advanced standard bore Rover V8 3.5 ltr engine ever".

it did indeed...some people are just blind.

Although still dont see how it could be so technically advanced. Its still just an engine. Unless it doesnt have valves or something....its as basic as any other engine ! Just with some fancy parts and development

Well put stevie - big deal - nothing new here - yep good power, but for that vast amount of cash you could get a few NASCAR lumps (900bhp). You cold get about that power for 20k on a Ford or Chevy SBC.
