I vividly remember an article about these appearing in Performance car in the early 90's with pics of a lovely yellow example with 3.8 written on the wing and those stunning split cups .....
..... a 964rs that really does look the part but the question is, do any still exist and does anyone on here own one or did they make so few ? How much do they go for if they ever come up ?

Very few sold in UK and I think the fellow who took one for a drive at Autocar put it in a ditch! I remember 964 3.8 RS Autocar took for a drive looking like the yellow car but the wheel arches were bolted on bit like a 993 GT2. Seen none in the UK for sale but they do come up for sale at the German RS specialists from time to time. Very pricey even 5 years ago when I used to look at German websites thinking about importing a car

there used to be one like that (with the arches bolted on) outside Puccis on the Kings Road almost every other day back in the daysIv had a look through my old autocars and I dont think Autocar actually drove the car. The pics that come up when you google are the same ones that performance car had in thier article; although german car, german plates, makes you wonder if they just purchased the story from another rag. Dont think any cars were actually sold in the uk were they?, extremely rare, even more so than the 964 turbo s, of which apparantly only 7 were officially bought to UK. In fact makes something like a 993 GT2 look common by comparison.

Perhaps it wasn't in Autocar? To be honest I've been trying to find a pic of a 964 3.8 RS with the bolted on arches and can't find one anywhere on the web.Perhaps I'm mistaking it with a 993 RSR but sure I saw a 964 with similar wheel arches?

Those Elferpool blokes have a 993 C2S in Vesuvius up for 75k (euros), which is a bit over 65k (pounds - sorry, my US keyboard doesn't recognise "foreign" currencies!) - now admittedly, it has quite a nice spec and only about 10,000 miles on the clock, but I think I could have my car looking and feeling identical for a lot less than thirty thousand pounds!http://www.germansportscars.net/GB/about-us.php

Oh, for the euro to go back to 1.50... Perhaps by the time it does, I'll have enough saved up for either a 964 RS 3.8 or a 993 GT2!

I seem to remember John Barker when at Performance Car ditched a 3.8 993 - a grey one with Techart wheels. I think I may even have a copy of the magazine somewhere.IMI A said:

I think the car you are thinking of that crashed was a a techart 993 carrera that john barker dropped into a ditch when he worked for performance car, 1995ish i think. There cant have been a 964 road car with bolt on arches otherwise someone would have pics, or at least know of such a vehicle.markcoznottz said:
