At least you have some most shell garages in the Glasgow/Ayrshire area are dry from what my mates have told me, Lucky i am still offshore till next week hope its back then!!!

Not trying to be a pedant here, but isn't it more like £5.80 a gallon? Even at 4.80 it's robbery!

Edit to say that although the price won't affect my TVR use too much, once it gets to 1.35 a litre I'll have to go diesel on the daily car.

New i'd done something wrong, but could'nt see as my eyes were still misted up

At this rate it is going to be far cheaper pound per 's'mile to fill up on cheap supermarket fuel and carry a litre of race fuel octane booster.Even Halfrauds carry a range that will boost a tank by 3-5 octane points, although obviously the cheaper fuel will not contain the additives and detergents, but an octane rating of 100 could still be achieved. ( I sometimes use an octane booster with V Power on spirited club drives anyway)

Heading up to Portsmouth from Devon on Friday en route to Spain, probably A303 then A34 M3 M27 will need a top up, any known Shell Stations in the Pompy area or en route.

I filled a 10L jerry can up a few weeks ago as the car was laid up over winter i always leave it with only 5L or so in it when laid up in case of fire ect. it was £1.18 only 2 weeks ago that is some hike

scotty_d - school boy error but Monkton is BP Ultimate. Used to run V-Power until I realised that there were relatively few Shell garages in my area, let alone anywhere in general. Maybe a Scottish thing? Changed to BP as I have 2 garages within a miles radius of my house, one half way to work in Kilmarnock and one in Monkton at end of journey. Have not noticed any difference between the 2 brands.

Compared to £2.42 per litre for BP 102 octane :-0 , I think £1.19 for 99 Octane is ok
