Naming and Shaming Rules

Only a quick query this - not particularly important.
How do mods / powers that be etc decide what naming and shaming is allowed?
For example there is a Kwik Fit thread running in GG at the moment, with plenty of people saying they have been ripped off, that the business follows didgy practices and doesn't stick to its word etc etc.
I've seen similar threads about other companies.
But then i've also seen threads heavily modified as they mention other companies / dealers etc by name?
As I say its no biggy just interested to know how the definition is made?

The definition is down to the libel laws. We want to make sure we are not going to be sued (regardless of the outcome) defending a libel lawsuit is very expensive so we want to make sure we are covered and act on any report.
Though bigger companies tend not to do this as they see it as feedback, they have a large enough client base that any stated libel in the forums is not going to have a massive effect on their business. A smaller independent dealer, tuner, or company is going to be effected more by libel on the site as their client base is smaller and can be more influenced by statement on this site. These are the ones who would more likely take us to court.
It may seem a bit of double standards and in truth we should remove all of them from the site unless the posts are stated as someone's opinion (which isn't libel as long as the opinion is based on fact). I am sure there are more qualified lawyers who can talk about this, but that is usually why it seems different for big companies vs smaller ones.
