Hi all! I've not used the Holiday forum before so I'm not sure how successful this will be, but I'm looking to book a holiday in early June with the GF and we want to do something a bit exciting. Budget is currently unknown but I'd like to not spend much more than £1K if possible.

Thailand is out as the GF went there a couple of months ago and we're looking at 2 weeks away. We'd love to spend a bit of time on the beach/pool, but mostly we'd like to do some fun stuff somewhere nice and sunny... Maybe some skydiving/sailing/microlight flying over something interesting/white water rafting etc etc.

Any ideas? I'm drawing a bit of a blank at where to start. Africa is an easy choice, but its a little big and I'm not sure where to start. I'd like to be a bit more interesting though. So has anyone got any ideas I can start with? Things to do, places to look etc etc?

Thanks in advance, sorry for being so vague!

Is £1k your budget for everything - flights, accommodation, activities and food? If so, it's pretty limited for a two week adventure holiday for two.

Sorry, £1k each.. I'm sure we could push it a bit if necessary!

Madagascar?
Mail?
Cambodia?
Cuba?
South America?

Russia, by trian?

I think your most expensive things will be flights. Last time I looked flights to Madagascar were bout £700, hence why I haven't gone yet...

Morocco? Flights should be cheap enough, they have beaches and you can do hiking in the mountains.

Ryanair have started flights to Fez which is meant to be a fantastic city.

Take the Chimaera to France and scare the locals with your V8.

You can get some extra spending money from me by popping over to Watford and fitting a battery in the boot of my Chim?

Currently changing the wife for a taller model so I need some extra leg room wink

Mark Warner/Sunsail type effort for sailing etc in Egypt or the Med?

Not sure how much the flights are, but how about Zanzibar for a week followed by a bit of safari in one of the smaller (and therefore cheaper) game reserves.

Go to Tunisia and hire a car to see the sights. Avoid Tunis though, it's carnagehehe

Ditto for Morocco, or find a friendly bloke in an old Merc taxi and negotiate a week's hire. See the Atlas (bearing in mind it'll be cold at altitude), Sahara and do some sailing on the coast.

Or hire a car and do a tour round the Spanish Pyrenees - Barcelona, vineyards, beaches, skydiving and watersports at Empuriabrava (?sp)...

Drive to the south of Italy and back. Road trips are epic, plus Italy has great food etc. Your main expenses will be hotels and petrol.

Road trip France. Down (via the Alps or Biarritz if you surf) to the south coast and Porquerolles.
