Tamiya ts-26 paint?
Discussion
Just completing a 20 year old Tamiya bike model that i bought in 1989! Says for the fairing to use Tamiya TS-26 pure white spray, now i know this isn't available in the UK anymore, so does anyone know where i can get it or a suitable alternative?
Basically what would leave a great finish & is a colour match for this paint?
Many thanks chaps!

Halfords Appliance White is a good alternative to Tamiya Pure White.
That's handy to know, thanks.I think the TS range of paints were withdrawn from the UK market due to labelling issues & a chemical in it thats banned in the UK & it's illegal to be shipped by air.
Occasionally they come up on e-bay.

Yes, this is a total pain in the ass. I'm halfway through spraying a model in metallic red (TS-18 I think) and now can't find any more. May have to have a search on line for European suppliers.
TS appears to have been withdrawn in 2008/early 2009 and all the suppliers websites indicate it will be coming back in late 2009, which obviously it hasn't.

If you can wait, you can get TS-18 from Hong Kong!!TS appears to have been withdrawn in 2008/early 2009 and all the suppliers websites indicate it will be coming back in late 2009, which obviously it hasn't.

Invest in an airbrush, it'll pay for itself in both paint cost and paint finish in no time at all and will alleviate issues such as this. You can also sell it to the missus by offering a spray tan service!
Have one. Have tried using it dozens of times but am obviously doing something badly wrong as it is always a really bad finish. May have to try it again.Red Firecracker said:
Well worth persevering with. I solely use one now and find the quality and flow of my work is far better than with rattle cans. I have much better control over not only coat thickness but also blending, with the added benefit of sharper masked lines as well.
Well, I might dig it out on Sunday and see how it goes. I spoke to one of my local model dealers. He told me that the Tamiya spray paints have been withdrawn from sale under European H&S legislation. They were expected to be reintroduced last summer but never materialized. Odd thing is, Tamiya polycarbonate paints are unaffected. I tried to find The TS sprays on the Isle of Man, since it's not part of the EU, but they're not available there.
