Z4 Windscreen Wipers... not working

So... Anyone out there with Z4 windscreen problems, specifically intermettent operation (in heavy rain) requiring switching off the engine and not returning to the correct position?

Sadly, I ran the battery flat and this seems to have caused the fault.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions?

I don't know what similarities there are between Z4 wiper control and that of E46 and E39... but a bit of Googling seems to suggest they all have issues - all of which you only ever discover when you need them because it's raining and it's therefore kind of critical!

My E46 experience is of a prob that only seems to occur on intermittent. Specifically: the wipers park in the correct position but then refuse to work again. This only seems to be remedied by stopping the car and turning off the ignition then restarting and trying again. The most likely sounding diagnosis I've found was related to wiper motor protection logic whereby if the wipers take too long to return to the park position, they're disabled due to the car believing that some external force acting on them has prevented them returning in time therefore best course of action is to disable them to prevent motor damage.

Only issue is: no one seems to have an answer as to how you increase the timeout value on the fabled ZKE5 module
