Griffith Insurance
Discussion
Hi all,
I'm new here so be gentle!
I'm looking to buy a Griffith as a second car, but need to consider how best to insure it, bearing in mind my NCB will be taken into account on my other car. A mid-nineties car doesn't appear old enough to qualify for 'classic' insurance so I am left wondering how others cross this hurdle. Does anyone offer a limited mileage/agreed value policy for cars of this age? Are multi-car policies the way to go?
Many thanks,
David.

rigga's link is a good place to start.
I haven't found a company that consistently offers the best value so it's definitely worth shopping around. If, like me, you don't have a garage and have a few points you'll be a little restricted who'll have you but you should find a good deal in the end. I started with Heritage then Adrian Flux onto A-Plan and now A-Plan again.
It may be wise to declare any modifications like V-rated tyres, shocks, exhaust, etc. as there are few Griffs out there 'as they left the factory'. Better to be safe than sorry in the event of a claim.

I went with A Manning & Co. who were reccommended to me by Hagerty (who no longer insure modern TVRs). Manning's service so far has been excellent, the policy was good value and you don't need to be able to move NCB from another policy in order to get down to a competitive price.
