hey guys, i'm looking for a device that i can download a couple of speadsheets onto in the morning to use as reference checks throughout the day. been to pc world and they said pda's are no longer available. is this true? if so, is there anything else that would do the job?

cheers

What mobile phone do you currently use? Chances are, if it's a reasonably decent one, you might be able to view spreadsheets on it.

Still got an Ipaq 5550 on my desk here, though its not been charged for a couple of years now, (battery only keeps so much life on standby..) In many respects it was far more useful in its day than my iphone is now. Probably be able to pick one up from ebay for next to nothing..

Got an iPaq sitting on my windowsill at the moment. Was going to bin it but you're welcome to it if it'll help. Its got all the bits - PC dock station, car charging cable and the like and even has an old copy of TomTom on it with a bluetooth GPS receiver. Its been dead a while and I've no idea what the battery life is like.

There's quite a few XDA's on Ebay too. Might be able to pop your SIM card in and utilise it as a phone as well, or just use the sync/pda functions...

Yes, my XDA Mini S has Excel Mobile. It's a Windows Mobile 5 OS if that helps.
