I am pretty confident that our Mk1 needs a new rear wheel bearing. The question which is proving to be trixy to answer is:

I know the front bearing and hub are normally replaced as 1 unit. Is this the same for the rear ? Can i just remove the hub, order new bearings from MX5Parts.co.uk and get someone with a bearing press to fit the new kit ?

MX5 Parts sell the complete hub. I don't think they sell the bearing on it's own and I'm not sure if it's possible to replace it anyway.

Not what the site says:
They sell front hub with bearing included, and a rear bearing kit. Thats it.

So they do - they do a hub without bearing and a bearing kit. I'm sure it wasn't like that when I had to change mine about 7 years ago...

Hehe - no worries Mr Lazza! Something has defo changed. Having just spoken to my indy - he reckoned that it was a new hub job, and a Mk1 owning mate was told to replace the hub assembly several years back.
