Alarm noise advice please

Sorry if this a silly question, but only a couple of weeks into ownership.

When I set the alarm there is a short bird chip bleeping noise approx 10-15 secs later. Is this normal or if not has anybody come across this before?

COuld this be from the radio. I had a head unit that let me know I'd left it in the car.
Or, could it be that one of the door closed sensors is not working/the door isn't closed all the way? I get a different beep on my tuscan occasionaly. The boot is slightly warped. By pushing down on the boot after the beeping occurs and relocking it make the beep go away.

This is to indicate that a door or the boot is open. You will also get the same noise (4 beeps) if the door micro switches are not working (seeing the door closed) or if the fuse is blown for the boot release. Check the doors have actually locked, when the door switch went faulty (no window drop/raise and/or the message on the LCD) the door in question did not lock even though the alarm was on!

It is probably (but not necessarily) one of the door micro switches. They are part of the 'door open/window down door closed/window up' electronics and they get bashed by less sympathetic passengers/owners every time they slam the door.

Does it beep anyway? Mine is silent when I arm/disarm - how do you make it beep?

You don't. It only beeps when its in fault. Try setting with a door or the boot open, it will beep to let you know.

Tried setting the alarm again, same beeping. Both doors and tailgate shut properly and all locked correctly i.e. no access could be gained. So assume that a door sensor is the problem, or alarm needs re-set?

Mine does this when the roof is down sometimes, it must be due to the microwave not setting properly as I can wave my hand around the inside of the car and the alarm wont go off. If it doesn't bleep the alarm goes off if I do.
