Constant Worry
Discussion
Since I'm a new dad to a beautiful, bouncing Cerbera, why is it that I cannot stop worrying about every squeak, rattle, pip, pop, thud or indeed hiss that may or may not routinely emanate from said bouncing (or ocassionally not) Cerbera?? Why was I not forewarned of this phenomenon?
Why do I continue to worry after each time I lay her down for the night that one of these mornings, I will return to find a moulten pile of parts plastered to the parking spot? Or that every start-up comes with the momentary doubt that she will snort her way into existence? Or that every bend may be her last? And mine for that matter? Why after 2 whole years do I still feel this way? Why is it that with every soaring smile she affords me with comes with that little spark of sadness, regret and recognition that one day she will break my heart (and more than likely face, limbs, organs etc.)
Why is this? I have owned many cars and have loved them all, even the truly s
te ones, why is this so different? Why do I always worry?
I think there needs to be prenatal classes for any who wish to become a first-time mother or father to a TVR.

It sounds like it always has. Like it's about to fall apart - shaken apart by the rumble.
Don't worry. If your TVR didn't rattle there would probably be something to worry about.
+1 I think those of us with other cars too get lulled in to a false sense of security. Modern cars are so quiet inside you hear virtually nothing which makes the various noises of a TVR sound even louder.Don't worry. If your TVR didn't rattle there would probably be something to worry about.
Similarly, the very day after we bought ours we took it from Hampshire to Cornwall for a weekend. I was absolutely convinced the car was going to either explode/evaporate/kill me at any moment that I was gripping the wheel so hard my knuckles were white! Many times the wife told me to relax lol. My hands were very cramped.
You should try wearing industrial ear defenders during a 2 hour drive (I know - wimp) then take them out towards the end. Everything seems 10 times louder and the Tiv is about to explode! Then do a 2 to 3 gear change @ 7500rpm and crap yourself as the whole exhaust system explodes and everything sounds quieter again....
I'm new to TVR ownership and have the same feeling of intrepidation each time I start the beast. However, it makes me smile more every time I do and even makes me smile whenever I enter the garage and it is just sat there
This morning I fired the beast up at 6:45am and the grin on my face as I guessed the reaction of the neighbours was rather broad
I delivered the car to the wheel hospital for a refurb and felt a little tinge as I walked away and left it in their care until Saturday morning.
Tonight I will stand in it's parking space in the garage and howl but look forward to the trip back via the Dartford Tunnel
Attached to the car already...... I should say so

excellent, best of luck with the MOT.
I usually have the same when I drive mine t garage for the MOT equivalent over here. She behaves beautifully on the way up and I'm usually dreading the result (and bill) of the testing, I tell my excellent and mostly uncommunicative garageman what I think is up and why it will fail. He usually grunts. Then as bloody usual, I get a phonecall telling me she's fine and has passed, whilst being reminded (non-verbally) that I'm clearly stupid. Happy days.

The roof will be lowered later this morning and we shall blast the 250 miles to Cornwall in this lovely weather.
