Struggling with a bar chart... irked

Data has a heading, then a number of sub-headings, and then the data.

Sure enough, I get a bar graph, with nice bars next to the sub-headings (as I want) but the major heading is rotated through 90 degrees so makes the chart look messy.

Can't seem to find a way to rotate the major heading so they are horizontally orientated...

Any ideas?

(tried in a pivot chart, but have the same issue)

Can you post up a screen shot? I'm confused as to which bit is rotated? You mention the major heading but is this the main title or the subheadings you refer to (and is that along the x-axis (horizontally along the bottom) or the y-axis (vertically on the left))? Also, which version of Excel are you using?

It can't be done. Check with MS this morning.

Weird. Sounds like it should be easy. Maybe some fine detail missing from your original post that would clarify things?

Remove the headi g from the selection then simply insert a text box and type your heading into that. Or put In a link to the heading in the text box if you want it to change automatically.
