MiniHoon this Sunday

Seeing as I'm in the area until Sunday afternoon and the forecast for the weekend looks great I was wondering if anyone was up for a minihoon this Sunday in the Reading/Henley area (will be meeting near Henley).

I will be devising a route between 60 and 80 miles long taking in some nice roads on the way to breakfast. It'll be an early start, leaving between 6:30 and 7.

You are aware there is a Surry Run this Sunday? We already went through all this with Steve (Hewlett) last week

Sadly looking touch and go whether I will have my car back for the weekend. Waiting on the exhaust to be fabricated now. Another week gone by (a sunny week). Arrrgggghhhh!!!!!

I have seen it, but that's in Surrey, which isn't that local and has near enough 100 cars on it, which I'm not really up for - I find 5-15 cars more manageable and fun.

It's a bugger about the car John, have you not got a like-for-like replacement that you can take the roof off?

Ah ok, well if you get the exhaust done in time you can come out on a run on Sunday and fill me in.

If there's no interest in this I'll probably just go out and do it myself - haven't done the 4494 in the MX5 yet.

If I can get the brakes / geo sorted somehow by then I'd be up for a run. 4494 then down towards devises is a good run... I might have ended up doing quite a bit of that last weekend. I'm also not sure about the number of cars of the surrey hoon, I can't see it being quick or not getting the wrong kind of attention to be honest.

tbh I am giving this some thought too. A big group on the Surrey run will be slow. I did the Hants one a couple of weeks ago with about 10-12 cars and it was much quicker and more fun.

Exactly why I would rather do a smaller run locally. Hope you get the geo and brakes done in time.

Although i am down for the Surrey Run, i wouldn't mind having a back up plan. can you PM me the possible start point and i will make the decision on the morning.

Either way i am going out for a drive on Sunday morning.

I'll second that, the big runs are great but a bit like a very attractive traffic jam. I may be in Devon but will definetely attend the run if I'm not.

A friend and I may well swap from the Surrey traffic jam to this. Too many cars mean we'll all dawdle along and i can do that any time of the day.

I did think about the other run but your right about being to many cars more like - Surrey "jam" run....

However I planning to go down to beach (West Wittering with the dogs)on Sunday but I thinking there's some great roads down there so we could do an early run down to the beach.

And then the chauffeur can bring the dogs along in the estate car to arrrive in a more relaxed state.

Or if we dont go to the beach then a Henley Hoon sounds like fun

I think I'll keep it local as that was part of the reason I wanted to do a separate run. I'll email round the route etc... tomorrow but will only be doing it subject to the car being in good health and the weather being good.

Just as a back up I do have the Hampshire run on my TomTom which was great, 2hrs long.

Put me down for this as well please, especially if it includes the 4494. Who do I need to PM to get the itn file sent top me? (Robbie, Ken Hoonas ).

I just looked at the Surrey run and 107 cars sounds like trouble, especially as I know next to none of them and a lot of them have low post counts (not being gay about post count, it is just that I don't know them and if they are unknown here then there is always the chance for bad driving).

I would have been up for this, especially with the plan being a local start! As it is, I will be in Swindon and feeling rather fragile I suspect

I'm not sure whether I will be up for this now. My car weaves under braking and they vibrate a lot so I think I'll wait until they're sorted before I do a proper hoon. Someone else is welcome to take over though are sort a hoon out as many people seem to want to do one closer to home.
