This is the M car BMW must make......the right size...could never understand the X5M/X6M when BMW had the 1 series coupe to turn to.

isn't this story months old, and BMW themselves said it was just an idea they were toying with, and more importantly, the BMW rep did say they wouldn't even know what to call it, as they sure as hell aren't going to call it an M1.

If they cut the roofline down a little and perhaps reduce the seat height to compensate (why do we have to sit so high in M cars?) then it would look like a mini-M3.

If it's got the M3's V8 then I'd love it.

there's a lot more money to be made in expensive tanks for fat cats rather than a low profit margin sports saloon for drivers.

Looks like it's running similar front brakes to the E92 M3. I wonder if BMW will allow you to upgrade using their performance parts with this M?
