I am new to using Sage Instant Accounts and am need of some help!

Can I, is there a way of, is it even possible to put multiple invoice numbers on one invoice. We do a number of jobs for one customer and I want to put them on one invoice but each one needs to have its own invoice number. Is it do-able? Or is there a way to be able to put more characters (hyphen and more numbers) in the invoice no box?

Thanks

Hannah

Each needs to have its own invoice number for your benefit or theirs?

Have they issued you multiple purchase order numbers?

Us.We have to be able to trace each job right through to invoicing so each job we do for the company needs to have its own number, if that makes sense.

Not sure if instant accounts can do this but can you set up each job as a project? Then you can invoice individually but it will all be grouped under the same project. When you invoice you have to use the F3 function on each line of the invoice to type in the project number.

If you wanted to, you could allocate all associated costs to the project as well, then you will know how much profit you make out of each job. smile

But that would still mean I have 60 seperate invoices reather than them on one, if that makes sense?

You'd still have 60 individual invoices, but all under one roof.

Trouble is, the main customer we deal with has trouble dealing with three peices of paper never mind 60! We have to re-print invoice at least once a month!

Could you perhaps just send them a statement and keep their invoices aside to give them at year end?

How about doing one outside of sage for him then? Just create one invoice from the 60 you do in Sage.

Am thinking that it may be easier to do the 'multiple' jobs seperately and then adding them on to SAGE and using it for the individual jobs.

All this and I haven't even got to putting the reciepts in yet! God help me at VAT time!

This comes from a perspective of not being a Sage user, but... I'm sure that Sage can cope with invoicing multiple products on an invoice (e.g. Apples - 3; Bananas - 2, etc.), so surely each workstream is just a product?
