Rumours abound that Malcolm McLaren passed away in New York.

But it's unconfirmed at this point; and maybe a hoax.

Anyone got any news?

Nothing on NYTimes, who are normally pretty up to date.

Sad, but I don't think Lydon will shed too many tears...

I'd say he was the founder of punk, along with Ms. Westwood. But hey - who cares.

It's sad news. But I wonder what Johnny will say!

Never knew he had cancer, maybe this was the real reason he never made it to the jungle.

Like him or not, he helped change the course of music which needs a bloody good shake up again. We are worse off without people like him.

This news makes me sad. frown

Love the Pistols, love punk, love Mclaren but he was NOT the 'founder of Punk'....... Long live IGGY.

PS. don't slag me off i've seen them all live. MMc RIP clap

PPS. Strange that earlier i had an arguement with a mate in the pub because he didn't believe me that Ronald Biggs sang with the Pistols - quick search on Youtube sorted that out hehe
