Hi all!

Isn't it a great thing when you suddenly realise something new about your beloved car?

Playing with the beast today on cracking, dry roads in my private zone.....S6, DSC off.

The car felt alive.....really fast and playful, with smooth, super-fast shifts (contrary to what I've heard about this)

The sheer extent of the lateral grip surprised me.....DSC is not needed in the dry....even the MDM mode spoils things.

When the tail eventually did let go, the transition was predictable and very easy to control with gentle opposite lock.

Really stunning stuff....this car is genuinely amazing.

Happy Days smile

I'm not quite there yet...

Three weeks in and I've not even dared go MDM. The fact that it has been raining almost solid since I picked it up probably hasn't helped confidence.

I need an empty car park before I even go near the DSC button.

I have to be honest, the car scares the st out of me at full chat. I feel like such a loser. Big respect to all the TVR/Noble types who rely on their own judgement to keep them out the hedges!

Must try harder clearly. frown

That's part of the charm of owning a performance car wink

But seriously, don't be too hard on yourself, the confidence will come with time. You're definitely doing the right thing by going easy when it is wet! When the roads are super dry, then go for MDM... it's very similar to normal driving (the DSC etc is still on), it's just that the envelope is a little wider - it will still take a very determined effort to get out of shape.

Eventually will come a day, a specific road (I'd recommend one on which you know every bend/bump/junction etc), and you're in the right mood and feeling comfortable... go for the S6 commando (nothing on). You won't know whether you've cum in your pants or st in them wink

That was the only mode for me, anything else was too lethargic wink

I swear that sometimes, shifting from 2nd, to 3rd and then 4th towards the redline felt as though the box was going to explode!

Wheelspin from 2nd into 3rd was very common also smilesmilesmile

Cracking motor in a straight line angel

Not if you're going to end up in a hedge backwards get some driver training where there is plenty of run off and someone is telling you what you are doing wrong/right.

Well the beauty of MDM is that you can set it up for YOUR preference and conditions. NOTHING to feel embarassed about not giving it some all out chaos after just 3 weeks. Respect to you for apreciating the power and your experience in the car! You can try and get yourself into full M settings gradually, try the MDM sport rather DSC off to start with, OK you can;t access S6 but it in this mode the car will help correct any little faults you may have started in terms of sliding. The DSC is not as agressive as full DSC on but it IS forgiving and a good place to start between full DSC on and DSC off.

I really like the look of that - I see I missed an M3 day today! Has anybody been on these before - I've heard airfield days are really hard on tyres though and the M3 is no lightweight... Anybody got any experience?

I went with my M3 when the tyres were shortly to be replaced.

Andy Walsh recommends blowing your tyres up to 50 psi to protect the shoulders from excessive wear. I think this must have been pretty effective, because in the end I was surprised how little wear there was on the day. Still, I was much happier than I would have been going with a newer set of rubber.
