This one trick pony has now had its day....Kid says something funny, adult shrugs his/her shoulders and tells them that they don't know the answer....the end. Time to knock it on the head!

Until tonight I had only seen the very first episode (it was a Christmas freebie from Itunes) thought it was quite good and funny, but I found tonight's one was too much.

Edited to add, in the 1st episode the children seemed spontaneous with what they said, this one seemed far too scripted.

I wasn't impressed by tonight's episode. The previous series was funny but this one seems to lack comedy or even story

The problem is the children- they were very young, and therefore cute. Now they are older, they just seem precosious (sp?) and annoying. I think the writers know this, hence the teen getting more lines. Plus I;m still waiting for the Dad to say "Milky Milky....."

having said that, on the bridge of HMS Belfast, I would have done the same as the Dad!

Or walking into the teens bedroom as he's playing his latest music and saying.

"I like this, it's got a good beat" following by the sad dancing.

I've only seen one episode, it was one of the first ones I think, and the little boy and girl were exactly how me and my sister were when we were little, I guess they've grown up a bit now so they have more scripted pieces than they used to.

I thought it was quite funny. Much better than the other tripe dressed up as comedy with canned laughter to prompt us into thinking there has been a funny line delivered.

Is this a Top Gear thread? biggrin

I thought it was good. As a show it has a very finite lifespan but I think it's brilliant.

Little fact, the oldest son in the show played by Tyger Drew Honey, is the real life son of Linzi Drew and Ben Dover. Don't look them up in work.

agree, the latest episode wasnt as funny as the previous series

one of my favourite bit of the previous series was when the mum told the little girl to treat everyone with equal respect, and the little girl answered "what? even the idiots?"

Old thread, resurrected.

Pretty negative comments in 2010 (above), but I've just watched the first couple of episodes of the new series and I think it's excellent. Superb writing, crafted comedy. Great stuff.

New series is more scripted, the first series was about the little girl, non-scripted sweet and innocent. Now it's teenagers it's a different kettle of fish.

Infurating - worst parents ever.

Honestly it wound me up - so I stopped watching. It wasn't that funny either mind.

I have watched most of them...it's been ok. I deleted the last ep without viewing but I'll watch the final ep since it's the last.

I thought last week's was the best so far of this series, tbh.

The scene with the Headteacher - so close to the awful truth it hurts. Bang on the money...although much of the rest of this epi was sadly not nearly as funny earlier ones.
