I need a new battery for my 1D mkII. Does anybody know a good NP-E3 battery? There are lots on the net, especially ebay but are they reliable, and how's the quality, especially the latch/lock mechanism? Thanks in advance!

I just bought a cheap copy and switched the endplate from my dead Canon one, to get a good quality lock.

Thanks for the link, but I should've made it clear that I was thinking of the cheaper ones. I've got 2 already and they work great but I can't find the supplier any more, so I'm after an alternative.

Could you post a link? and how is it apart from the locking system? Is the lock really bad? My Canon one's still alive, so I can't switch the endplate yet unfortunately.

I use these in my 1DKMIIN and they're as good as the OEM Canon battery.

Just, referring to a simple process, not one done recently. It was just some £15 ebay thing.

As for battery quality, I'm coming to the conclusion that my charger is faulty as none of my batteries keep my 1d1 going for more than a couple of hundred shots.

I wouldn't assume it's a fault if i were you. The original 1D is known for eating batteries.

Thanks for the link! Although the capacity is smaller than ebay ones (1650 vs 2200mA), I'd feel more comfortable buying from 7dayshop where I've purchased loads and loads of items before. How's the locking mechanism of these ones?
