Would anyone ever admit to:

1) following another car on a twisty road and 'machine gunning' them (spitfire style) using the gear stick as a button?

Or

2) approaching a speed camera as though they were entering the (speed controlled) pit-lane of an F1 race.

Or

3) other....

I don't have children but I do remember, as a child, being in the car with my uncle and cousins. At the time he had a green Orion and us kids were doing rally style commentary whilst driving down country roads. Uncle played along and pressed on a bit more for us smile

"He hits 60 miles an hour as he goes hard on the brakes into this tight right-hander... now he's back hard on the power, into 3rd gear...!" etc... biggrin

I have a toggle switch on the center console that turns on and off my intercooler spray which is boost controlled, told my lad it was a rocket launcher as it was a spy car... he was so tempted to flick it when we stopped at trafic lights, but i could see fear in his eyes....

Just remembered once, coming back from a karting evening for my 13th birthday. Had friends with us, in my dad's E reg Scorpio... we were all fired up and egging him on a bit, he exited a junction with quite a lot of loud pedal and stuck the back out - friends still remember it to this day, brilliant.

I'm perpetually "blasting" OAPs with my space invaders gun "boo-boo, boo-boo-boo, boom!".

We also like to christen the slow drivers we get stuck behind - Doris, Edna, Sid etc.

I frequently refer to slow OAPs nin front as Albert and Ethel and (much to my wife's annoyance) use the air recirculation switch "to cut out the smell of pi55" when following them.

My Dad on the way back from football training used to have me use the stopwatch to time him between 2 round-a-bouts on the way home.

He never went silly with it but used to press it on a bit and my brother and I used to rate his cars based on the time we got!

Not in a car, but this is standard practice while skiing. On a long schuss, drop into the 'con-trails' of an unsuspecting partner, "dagada-dagada-dagada", with ski-pole "cannons" recoiling, before peeling away as you go past. Particularly effective when passing a ski-school class lined up on the slope.

I don't have kids - remember uncle scaring me & my cousin in childhood by taking us on a spirited drive now and again in winter with snow tires on.

my dad would ask us to pedal if we wanted to go faster. not knowing how cars work, I genuinely thought it worked!

Repeatedly tell my 5yo son that we're going to take off over a local yump in the road. We get a little "flick" as we crest but I "land" it with a dab of the brake pedal some few hundred meter down the road.

He's not buying it but demands the "flying" treatment each time we approach.
