Get a call - car is finished! Yipeee! Rush down this morning to pick it up.

The car looks great, and they have started the car and it is running when I arrive.

I turn it off and go and sort things out and have a pee.

Get back just open everything up to check everything. It is all fine and I get in to start it up.

Nothing. Seems like the starter motor just died!

Argghh .. so I had to leave it there and go back home. Just to rub it in the weather is great and I get home and we have no power! FFS.

What a bummer! Totally ruined my weekend.

Also I now have a cracked windscreen, my insurance only allows me to use National Windscreen - who don't have a clue what a Noble is and I have been waiting 4 weeks for a replacement. Doesn't inspire confidence.

Not being funny, but if they don;t even know what the car is, what chance have you got of them doing a good job of it?

But what can I do!

My insurance company won't let me use anyone else.

But is it that difficult? Is it that different from other cars?

Find someone else who has it in stock, then inform your insurance company and give them a time limit to resolve the issue.

More precisely, the Lotus M100 (vintage ~'90-'92), although the "black out" region for the rear view mirror has a different size/shape.
For U.S. cars, at least, there is a unique ID number printed on lower portion of the windshield (driver's left) that any windshield supplier should be able to use to come up with the correct part.

Quite often see the heated version on E-Bay,(none at the moment)
Nice upgrade if you use your car in cold weather.

Admiral.

Also when I said my car is out of action at my local garage and my garage want to give me a curtesy car the woman said that would increase my premium!

Is this normal??

Although this is not the immediate solution to your problem, look at this thread, you input will help - especially the guy behind the campaign, Andrew Moody.

Have to say, whenever Admiral is mentioned I always expect a few twists and turns. They work on an average invoice value and the likes of Auto Windscreens and National Windscreens appear more than willing to land such a contract.

If it's down to number crunching, corners will be cut and the end user is the one that usually loses out (and may not always realise this).

I just rang admiral again and complained and they gave me Autoglass's number.

I rang them and they have glass in stock and will come on Thursday to install!?

Makes me wonder if it is the correct windscreen!

We will see on Thursday.

Very unusual that Autoglass should give an appointment time so soon. Their lead time is usually three weeks!

im with elephant which is sister compay of admiral and they tried to do the same to me, i told them where to go and i got sent autoglass who once again had it in stock and came the very next day. a word of advice, make sure they have the new rubber seal that goes round the edge as they did not have this on mine and there is a slight gap due to rubber shrinking.

"The" new or "a" new rubber seal??

OK so it sounds good that they can do it, have done it and have it in stock.

I told them that I was using National Windscreen, but they were slow and if you could do it quicker I would use them. Perhaps this is what spurred them on to get it done quicker?

They literally rang me back in about 2 mins to confirm time and date.

Thanks

a new rubber seal it goes round the outside of the glass. its more to fill the gap between the glass and the car than to seal.
