Hi

I'm investigating a fuel issue (i.e. fuel supply cutting out) with the car and have read up on all the forum threads on the issues.

I took a picture of my fuel pump and filter - see below - can any of you experts diagnose what potentially is wrong?

I'm worried the fuel pipe feeding the pump is very small?
The pipe from pump to fiter looks ok (nice bend with no knicks).
I'm worried the pipe leaving the filter knicks around metal upright and looks as thought it could be limiting the flow?

Any thooughts much appreciated,
Cheers
Kenny

Kenny,
The pipe from the tank to the filter & the filter to the pump are known to give problems, the pipe can collapse internally. Also have you taken the filter out and replaced / cleaned ? Otherwise consider blocked Injectors or faulty pump / relay. I doubt you have a fault with the pump to fuel rail pipe.

Hi Kevin,
Thanks for the prompt response.
I don't think the fuel filter has been touched for a couple of years.
I've got a replacement - yet to fit it.

In regards to the pipe from the pump to filter - to replace this, would Goodridge 811 HOSE -6 be the right spec?
And length? 1.5m?

See link below

Here's hoping changing the filter and hose works smile
Let me know your thoughts,
Cheers
Kenny

Might also be worth cleaning up the connections on the pump as well , also have you done the fuel pump relay upgrade ?

Thanks for the suggestion Simon - will give that a go as well.

Forget to mention i've already done the fuel pump relay upgrade recently - didn't fix the fueling problem - hence why still investigating.

Kenny, the fuel pipe from the tank through to pump is approx 16mm ID so -6 far too small, l would remove the filter & check first.
