Serious question, everyone is always complaining about the uk and the government.

So what us holding you back from moving somewhere else, job, family or something else just curious.

For me, nothing!

It's easy to b!tch about Brown, the guvernment, taxes, prices, etc, etc...but it's not always easy just to get up and go. A lot oif places you'll need the right visa'a or sponsorship to live there, and that isn't always easy.
It's not always cheap to do so either. Also I'd imagine that many in the UK simply wouldn't feel at home anywhere else....I can understand that, it's a comfort thing, I guess.

I can't speak French or Dutch (would move to France or Holland if I could), I know people in these countries can speak English but I would prefer to have a decent grasp of the language before I go so I don't look/sound like a complete idiot. Plus I have very little money at the moment and can't afford to move just yet.

At the end of the day, the UK is a really wonderful place with a varied climate, some great cities and beautiful landscapes. I actually really love Great Britain. The problem is our crap government and the issues that are bringing this country down day by day.

Moving elsewhere would be like breaking up with someone you love for the sake of an arguement once a week.

Gilbert complained about this in one of his songs, so it's been going on a long time (Mikado was wirtten in 1885). Like you I reckon these people should move to the country of their choice or shut the fk up. Though maybe they should take a holiday there first and see if the locals have anything to complain about.

Good question, Craig. One I often ask myself that when I read most of the miserable ramblings in the lounge.

The UK is one of the best places in the world to live and work - it's a fact.

My visa application has been submitted, but really the only thing keeping me in the UK is business. I'm now at the stage where that isn't a problem, so I plan on buggering off fairly soon.

Because it's not as simple as turning up in a country where you want to stay and moving in. For New Zealand i'd need a job that contributed and used my qualifications. Well either that or get someone pregnant....

Family mainly but also money and no doubt wherever I ended up I'd find something that would piss me off just as much.

It isn't family; my closest relatives are 250 miles away. It sure ain't the job.

I just like it here.

Language, money and dependent family.

Otherwise I would love to give it a go somewhere else.

I've lived abroad a few times, and enjoyed it. I also enjoy living in the UK (though less as the things I enjoy are restricted more and more).

At the moment, I'm happiest here, but that may change.

I love the UK. Didn't like leaving at all but when I was asked to come and work in Dubai back in 2003 (was still very much pre-boom here) - I jumped at the chance. I knew the labour government wasn't going anywhere for a while and I'm opposite everythey are and stand for so took the plunge and haven't regretted it since.
