Im getting alot of blue smoke from my engine, its mainly on startup, once it warms up it runs pretty clear, all that iv done recently to the car is take the sump off and change the oil.

I hope my rings arent diying. has anyone got any ideas?

Why on earth did you remove the sump to change the oil out of interest? confused

But your right, blue smoke is a sign of burning oil. Could just be valve stem oil seals.

The sump had to come off to be shortened because it kept grouding out in the westfield. The oil did get overfilled for a while, but iv dont 40 miles since its been re drained and filled to the proper level so i dont think its excess oil left in the engine!

blue smoke on startup usually means valve stem seals... oil thats sat in the head seeps down the seals into the cylinder when not running.
although overfilled oil can also cause it.

If its just on startup i wouldnt worry about it too much.
