Rumblefest - 3rd & 4th July 2010
Discussion
Well I'm pleased to announce that YorksYanks will be hosting our own show for the first time!
Rumblefest - A Show of American Automotive Independence - Presented by YorksYanks and supporting Help for Heroes, will take place at the Triton, Brantingham, East Yorks on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th July 2010. American Cars/Trucks/Bikes, Rods and Customs from all across the UK are welcome to come and join us for what promises to be a great new event on the show calendar. Saturday afternoon will feature the 20 mile Rumblefest Cruise which will include stopping off to display the cars in the local village of Cottingham, whilst back at the Triton camping will be available on the show field for those wishing to stay over. The Triton has an excellent reputation for its food and the bar and restaurant will be open throughout the weekend including Sunday breakfast.
Sunday will feature the Show'n'Shine with award winners predominantly picked out by the participants. There'll be trade stands and we've also got some competitions for you to get involved in. YorksYanks is also really pleased to announce that Rumblefest is being supported by The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and will feature a flypast by one of the Coningsby based Spitfires (subject to weather conditions)
Rumblefest will be open to the general public on Sunday July 4th from 10am and as a non-profit making organisation YorksYanks will be charging only a nominal entrance fee to both exhibitors and the general public just to cover event running costs and hopefully form part of a donation to Help for Heroes, YorksYanks chosen charity in 2010.
Look out for more information as it becomes available at http://www.rumblefest.co.uk

Hi Pete,
Sorry for not getting back sooner on the Cott' thing but really thats Matt's jurisdiction anyway as he's done all the liaising with the Cottingham Day organisers and I see as usual he's got it well covered. The current plan is that we're hoping to cruise out en-mass to Cottingham from the Triton sometime early afternoon and park up in Hallgate, which will obviously closed to traffic but this is still subject to change. From the feedback we've had so far it looks like we should have both the carpark and the field at the Triton nicely full!
Just need a Camaro back on the road to go in now don't I!?!?!
See you on the Chippy run in Becks new daily driver...

Thanks Pete and all the other local PH'ers who came along and supported us and H4H today.
Haven't got exact figures from the show yet (should have that for everyone in the next couple of days) but we can say that Help for Heroes will be receiving a bigger donation that we ever imagined was possible, thanks to everyone who supported YorksYanks and our charity in our first ever Rumblefest.
Congratulations to all our prize winners
Best Classic American - Neal Walker, "Blueshark" '69 Corvette
Best Modern American - Mick Haynes, '07 Cervini C500 Mustang
Best Rod or Custom - Michelle Pawson, '45 Chevy Truck
Best Bike - Jeff Morgan, American Ironhorse
Best in Show - Steve Fletcher, '46 Ford Woody

The amount raised at Rumblefest 2010 for our charity of the year, Help for Heroes is a staggering...
...wait for it...
£2543.53
This figure may actually grow a little over the coming weeks as we still have people wanting to buy Rumblefest T-shirts. We've got a few left here but only in L & XL if anyone still wants one. The price is £12.50 (plus postage and packing if required). We will also be collecting for the rest of the show season for H4H if anyone wants to make a donation.
For some great images from Rumblefest see this thread containing the work of Gill from Hertford Tyres
