Sticky steering into slight RH corners

Out in the Griff this afternoon and noticed there's a stiff point just off straight ahead as you turn into RH corners. Feels like it's stuck in a longitudinal rut on a motorway, which you have to apply additional pressure to overcome.
It's a non-PAS 1994 500, 15" Toyo T1Rs at 24psi, no play in the system that I can detect, recently greased rack (doesn't appear to have lost grease) and a year or so ago it got new Protech dampers and front lower bushes.
If you're turning right from a LH turn (eg. turning left then right on entering a roundabout) you can't detect anything is wrong; it's only when you start a gentle turn from straight ahead.
I'll jack it up and have a good look around but if anyone has any specific suggestions it would be great.

Well.... I never got round to investigating further, but used the car again yesterday and today and the sticky steering has fixed itself. 
That'll teach me for not using it often enough.
