Got to checking out my LS7 preinstall....and found...

..a plastic pipe running from the Cannister Purge Solenoid to ????? swinging free eek

The Purge solenoid end is clipped in fine, but on examining the other end I notice a small thin-walled ally tube inside the clip looks like it has sheared off something!

Not knowing these motors I dont know where to look to find 'the other end' and where it presumably connects to, to see what damage has been done, and then how I am going to fix it! Arrgh!

Must have got hooked at some point in my small garage - well it has been nearly 2 years being moved around...!

Any advice would be gratefully received!

If you assume it is the right length and no more then there must be a limited number of places it will reach.

Case of waving it around until you find its home.

The alternative is that it is just a vent pipe designed to hang down below the engine. The ali insert could be a one way valve or drilled like a carb jet to just allow a small air flow.

Just taken a look at mine and the plastic pipe from the bottom of the purge solenoid passes over the top of the engine and into the inlet manifold (on the drivers side - just at the air intake, directly downstream of the throttle body)
