Hi,

Yes i have installed one of these hoses, and i do think that it has helped.

The amount of "shunt" that i got has been reduced and it feels as if it breathes a little easier.

Just my opinion though!

Cheers

I gained 9bhp at the wheels when I fitted the induction pipes and had the pre-cats removed. Cant say which mod gave me the extra power but as removing the pre-cats is not usually expected to give any gains it must be the new pipes.

Cant say I've noticed the car being much smoother, and the extra power isnt enough to be noticeable but its one less thing to go wrong (those old pipes can collapse) and at least it did improve the output a touch.

If you are going to fit the smoothbore hoses then consider fitting a bigger AFM as well, you know it makes sense oh and while you are at it a 72mm plenum, I gained nearly 30 Hp

Depends how good a tune your engine is in, but it is probably a good idea. I have the Tornado fitted.

Does anyone know the bore and length? Seems quite a bit for what is just a 90 degree silicon bend.

Is that accounting for the sleeve on the enlarged plenum? I would think fitting an enlarged collar to take a 90mm pipe would be a benefit on the tight bend, if you are getting your plenum customized (just port the entry smooth to merge the ID change)?

The diameter is also different at the AFM end IIRC, if you still have one hehe

Yup, it's a reducing elbow... perhaps the Act one isn't so expensive, but I want a coloured one biggrin

I did the same recently and agree the cost from some "specialists" is high.

The bend is a bog-standard silicone 90-degree reducing elbow from 80mm ID at AFM to 70mm at Plenum.

I cut mine down slightly at the AFM end to make fit better.

Got it from Auto Performance (AP Silicone Hoses), much cheaper than some TVR suppliers

You have to be a bit careful some hoses will squash (limiting airflow) particularly whilst warm and I'm pretty sure even if you stretch 70mm hose over the AFM the restriction of 70mm vs even 72mm would be a hindrance. I'm certainly in the bigger / smoother better camp hehe
