Hi guys,

After the posts about Autoglym and Zymol, I thought I'd share some pictures I took the other day after I'd just waxed the car with some of the Pinnacle Souveran wax I'd mentioned in those threads.

Pictures still don't do the car justice. It has the deepest, wettest looking shine I've seen, and its so easy to work with. It literally wipes on like butter, and then wipes straight off. No elbow-grease required! You don't even have to wait for the stuff to dry...

Anyway.. the pictures!

There's more pics at www.btinternet.com/~sixspeed/tvrpics

Wow! Where did you get the polish from? After some serious elbow grease over the weekend, I like the sound of an easier to use wax!

Btw,

I am going to be placing an order with the guy in the US who I get the Pinnacle products from. If anyone is interested in the wax, I can order some in for you - will save on shipping no doubt if I order a few in one go.

It's $69.95 a pot (but that will probably do you 18-months to 2-years even with regular use). The guy's website is www.tacscar.com if you want to look for any other stuff on there.

I'm going to place the order the end of the week, so I'd need to know quite soon and would need cheques off anyone preferably by the weekend too..

Well I'm up for a pot.

Andy, what a bloody gorgeous looking car ... that blue is toooo much ... I want one and so does Plotloss! (well, he'd settle for a Tamora)

Going to go and check their site sometime today and should confirm my order with you later on, all being well.

Don't forget about import duty - ignore me if you've already thought of that

Yes, I hadn't forgotten about it, but had forgotten to mention it. There will be shipping to add as well.

I would say if you budget for swapping that $ for a £ sign, then that should cover it. Just depends if you want to spend £70 on wax. But then Zymol costs the same, but is bl&%dy hard to put on and take off in comparison! (and I am talking from experience - i've got a pot of Zymol Titanium sitting in the fridge next to the Pinnacle!)

Don't want to spoil things folks, but bear in mind that you are looking at pictures of a brand new Tuscan.

You could probably use Mr Sheen on a car that young and the paint would still look as beautiful as Sixspeed's.

Maybe this stuff is good, but don't expect it to do miracles if your paint's already shagged.

Sixspeed, Are you trying to upset me!!! The car is beautiful. Once I've got a new job confirmed, I'm getting a Tuscan as a reward to myself. Wife can have a new handbag (as long as it matches the car!)

Will be going to either Mole Valley like you, or Fernhurst, as they are nearest (I'm in Motspur Park, right by the A3 underpass where you took your first pictures). I'm going for the same colours, inside and out.

I'm going secondhand, so will have to wait for the ideal.

Actually I do believe some concours people DO use Mr Sheen (or similar products) to give a very wet-looking, but short-lasting shine. Especially on areas like door-shuts etc. Not recommending people do it though because those products contain silicone, and although it does give a very good shine, it'll damage the paint finish in the long run if used continually.

As for the Pinnacle Souveran though, it will give a very wet looking shine, and it is very, VERY easy to use, so as a wax goes it is good. Also, I will say that my car is looking better now than the day I picked it up from Mole Valley and other people who were with me on the day I picked the car up have noticed the improvement too so it does make a difference.

It is just a wax though, so it won't perform miracles. You're best to prep the car well first to get the best results from it. If anyone is interested, feel free to email me and I'll be happy to give some advice. I will say though that I'm not an expert on this subject! I'm still learning a lot, but I've been "detailing" my cars for a couple of years now, and trying all sorts of products out in the process.

Finally, for those that ARE interested in buying the wax - can you drop me an email through my profile, and I'll then get a price together with shipping etc and let you all know the final costs etc and where to send cheques to if you still want to go ahead..

(for those interested the site I use for buying most of my products is www.tacscar.com)

Steve,

Yes, I think I was halfway through doing it before I went to Virginia Water. Didn't get the whole thing done in time though.

Its got two coats of the wax on now, might put another on tonight (it's so addictive as it only takes about 25 mins to do the whole car!).

Virginia Water! Not far from me.

Still waiting to get a deposit together for a new Tuscan S. Should happen any day though...

Love the colour of your interior though! I might just blatantly copy it for mine! Did you spec full leather in the end?

Leatheradams,

No, only half. Couldn't see the point, besides the 'S' was outside my initial budget in the end (I was "only" meant to get a standard Tuscan at the beginning), so another 2k was out of my reach, and wasn't really worth it in my eyes. Everyone thinks it's all leather anyway..
