Tour De London
Discussion
Since the weather was looking OK on Sunday, I planned an early start with a friend to take in all the major London sights on a convoluted route around the capital before the traffic built.
Starting in Richmond and heading past Chelsea FC, Battersea powerstation, Westminster, London Eye, St Pauls, Gherkin, Tower of London, (cup of tea in St Katherine's Docks), then back via Trafalgar Square, Downing Street, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, Notting Hill, Hammersmith, Barnes wetlands, Richmond Park and then home, all before 11am.
In summary, there's no better way to see the city than on a bike, on abandoned streets, on a Sunday morning. Go for it.

while you're near the gherkin you'll see the Lloyds building of course, and St Paul's...why not pop across the (no longer) wobbly bridge to the Tate Modern/Festival Hall etc?Starting in Richmond and heading past Chelsea FC, Battersea powerstation, Westminster, London Eye, St Pauls, Gherkin, Tower of London, (cup of tea in St Katherine's Docks), then back via Trafalgar Square, Downing Street, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, Notting Hill, Hammersmith, Barnes wetlands, Richmond Park and then home, all before 11am.

My thought was to go over every road bridge over the Thames within the M25.
I need to plan it with a map one afternoon. As I see it, it's Tower Bridge to Staines, and everything in between.

As far as I'm aware, there is no public access to the Northern bridge off Ash Island. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it a water board closed access. Also, the residents of Ash Island say hello to ANYONE they don't know, it seems like a community that looks after each other.(We looked at a houseboat to buy there about 2 years ago.)
Regarding the foot bridges, I'm keen to keep it a road event, as I don't fancy walking over the bridges in spds. If I had a mountain bike, the tow paths would be good, and shorter, but need even more planning!
