eBay have two trailers liveried up as Brawn F1 that have been seized by Sheriff's Court and are being sold off:

Currently just shy of £15,000 will get you the pair. Can you imagine turning up to a track day with these?

although they are ex brawn, and presumerably ex honda so probably a few years old


you can get a basic 10 year old one with tractor unit for 23k

probably £150K+ each new at a guess (a LOT of kit in there). i'd be gobsmacked if they don't got for £50K+

Brand new ones from the ground up are in the region of 100K. it will vary on what they'll fit inside and how old they are for the price (obviously) but there's quite a few about at the minute so I should think they'll struggle to get big money for them, Ex Brawn or not.

It also looks like they have at least one other trailer, in the back ground in one of the photos of trailer two, there's another trailer that's higher, the expandable type.

Is this because of the reduction in testing? Presumably the race transporters can be used for pre-season testing now?

Ex F1? Yes, most likely. There's just a number of teams that will have trimmed down, not just F1, but others that aren't running in as many series or changing what they need.

I can see how the F1 trailers could go up to 300K when new I suppose too. They'll have a lot of kit installed too, top line plasma TVs in the hospitality area and possibliy built to a tight spec.

They'll be a bargain for a F3 or Renault team, won't they?!

So, the first one went for £69,000. The second one, £63,850.

I think to replace the kit included in the trailers would cost more than that.

I saw the Ferrari "motorhome" on the M20 yesterday. I'd have thought the mirror effect particularly on the back would be very distracting for other motorists.

Anyone got any information on the build processes of these things when they get to the circuit? Be nice to see how they go from being the trailer on a lorry to the swanky "motorhome"

There's a corner of an industrial estate a few miles from where I live, where there's quite often a few ex-F1 transporters parked. I think it's a company that buy last year's and refurbish them. Seem to remember seeing the Minardi vehicles after the team finished. Sometimes go round there on driving lessons, will try to get a few photos next time.

There is a company based down in the west country that is one of the major F1 trailer and motorhome providers.....and the cost of these portable structures, not trailers is just amazing, as is the process of shipping two across Europe. As one GP weekend ends a second facility is erected at the next track. The cost of the new one I believe is upwards of FOUR million pounds!!!
