Hi Guys,

Hope someone can help. Not very exeperienced with US engines.

Have a new LS7 crate engine languishing in my garage for a while, and got to examining it prior to fitting it into my project.

Problem is I found the purge solenoid pipe swinging-in-the-wind so-to-speak! i.e. the solenoid end is OK and connected, but the other end looks like it has sheared off. The offending clip-end is showing a small thin-walled bit of ally pipe broken off!

Jeez! must have got hooked on something and wasn't noticed!

First, where should it be connected, and what am I looking for???

.... and second, can it be repaired and how??? (Jeez, I do hope so!)

Please help as I need to get the engine in soon!

Happy Jim

Keith,
I'm not familiar with the LS7 but am with the LS1 - the purge pipe is/was used to vent the fuel tank vapours via a carbon canister into the inlet manifold (part of the emissions requirements nowadays I believe) - it's not used in Kit installations so you should be able to remove/blank off as appropriate.
My be worth a quick word with BoostedLS1 just to be sure.
Rgds
