Help....530d wont start

Ive had my 530d sport for nearly three years and its been fantastic, just about to sell it on for an M5 and it has started playing up! Typical.
Symptoms....turns over but wont start, if you spray easy start into the air chamber and turn it over it will start and then run perfectly, no flat spots or hesitation. If you turn off engine and turn back on immediately it will start, leave it 20 seconds and it wont.
So, its definitely a fuel problem, but since it runs well once it starts im at a loss to think what it might be, has anyone had similar issues and know a solution ?
Im going to drive it to an independent tomorrow for diagnostic, but to be forewarned is to be forearmed and Id love to have an idea of possible problems before getting a rimming.
