Nice car - I used to have one myself, in Silver. Have you thought about getting the PPP added? It turns it into a real rally weapon, but is totally discreet. The exhaust is a bit louder, but nowhere near as loud as those Blitz / H&S things that most seem to have these days...I have a December 1999 Scooby sitting in my garage as standard as the day it came out of the factory, it was 3 years old to the day when I got it and I will have had it 8 years in December, I just cant bring myself to part with it even though it has 115,000 miles on it now it does not get used any more much
yeah, as a standard package they are well balanced for day to day use + some fun driving as the mood takes, sure there is a lot of performance that can be added with mods but where does it end? so many peope end up chasing the dragon on power figures
PPP was something i thought about, anyone know about prices? from when i last looked it was the thick end of 2K and i'm not sure its really worth it for me, from what i understand it does add a nice chunk of torque

PPP is about £1,600 inc. VAT and fitting, but you can go to any one of a number of places that will give you more for less. As examples, Zen Performance, TSL Motorsport, Scoobyclinic and Scoobyworld will all be able to offer you a 'Stage 1' package for around £1,400 which should see approx. 275bhp and comparable torque. You should also be able to choose the volume of your exhaust too!
Very true, I'm sure I'd feel happier about buying a car that's had what you could easily rationalise as a 'factory option'!
However, the PPP would be fitted by a Subaru dealer: when I had my WRX I went to a multi-brand dealer in Taplow (no name, no shame!) who didn't even know what a 'Proline Kit' was!
Contrast that with someone like Simon Roe of Jolly Green Monster or Olly Clark at Roger Clark Motorsport, both of whom are very highly respected and would both give you honest, valuable advice on modifying your car.
The rub is that you've currently got a completely standard Impreza - you're probably in quite a small minority! If you start down the modding route you'll lose that originality (if that's important to you).
