Good idea to have Hague speaking - probably the best statesman the UK has right now.

I'm bored of the "come and get involved" theme already.

Comparing yesterdays Labour effort to this (minus the green element) is like comparing horse manure to ice cream

He was talking about the location they'd chosen for the launch (Battersea Power Station) and said "I'm not kidding, I watched it myself, but last Saturday, this is where Gene Hunt saved Shazza, so let's fire up the power station, it's time for change"

Some Labour supporters have been claiming that the Tories will cut Sure Start, education, and the Child Trust Fund. The truth is that they only plan to abolish the CTF. I guess it was a response to the scaremongering. CTF is a ridiculous idea in my opinion.

Agreed

I think those new born children would sooner we pay down the national debt by the time they reach 18, than have some government trust fund.

There was a young mother (you know the type) in front of me in the Natwest bank recently enquiring about opening her Child Trud Fund account for her child, she wanted to do it right there and then and asked how long it would take for the money to go in, etc. When the cashier informed her she wouldn't be able to access the money, as it was for her child, she said "Oh right, well, erm...okay... I'll come back and do it later"

Not remotely surprised at that.

She'll come back after she's flogged her new laptop.

It doesn't surprise me. 75% of parents make no additional contribution to the CTF. The type of people who would be willing to start a trust fund for their kids would do it regardless. Labour really didn't think it through, and decided that instead of organising a scheme that would really help, they just blindly threw money at the first idea they had. Complete waste of public money.
