I wonder if these are just spec improvements or whether the physical design will be changed in any way. I guess the former. I got one of the first "unibody" macbook pros (15")back in 2008 and couldn't be happier with it, but if they release something new I could be tempted by a 13"...

why do they need to take the site down to update it - seems a bit old fashioned or is it part of the hype machine

The specs aren't that different... more RAM on the 'base' models and slightly quicker processors.
More of a refresh. I certainly won't be upgrading from my 2.26 13". smile

Forgive me for being a teeny bit dim. Is there a price rise?

There's only a hard drive increase from what I can see on the Mac Book Pro, and a 2Gb increase on RAM for the basic 13"...

Aha. That makes me feel a bit better. £1250 as opposed to the £1150 I paid last week. However, still slight galling to think all I have over the £999 model is the faster processor and a not as good GFX card.

Bah.

ETA, up here: http://store.apple.com/uk/browse/home/shop_mac/fam...

Battery on the 13" is up from 7-hours to 10-hours, thats seriousley impressive given it still weighs the same.
