iphone and newer android handsets are all very good and very, very clever.

iPhone is the simplest to use - especially if you include the PC software and the store where you can by apps etc... If you already have an iPod and use iTunes then this is another big plus for getting an iPhone.

Remember that Apple will almost certainly launch a new iPhone in June. So you might want to hang on until then.

I've just swapped out my blackberry for an HTC desire. I like it, but if I only had the option of one phone, I'd be keeping my iphone.

Great, do you expect to be able to get it that soon through/on orange? If so I'll hold off till then. If it's looking like the end of the year I'd prob upgrade now and just buy one later and sell the 3GS.

Dont know about the diff service providers plans. But I'd be surprised if you couldnt get it on Orange from launch. The days of o2's dominance are long gone.

Simplest to use dpending on who you are and how much of a control freak you are. The comment about istore apps etc is great but remember you will pay a fair amount for anything you buy from istore itunes etc.

It would be available on all networks who currently have it at the same time, and prob within 2 - 3 weeks of being announced.

I'm not going to get into the whole iphone V everything else debate, i no fan of the iphone at all!!

I have an HTC HD2 and love it (i'm not selling it because i hate it i'm selling it because i have a better deal saving me bucks before some smart arse comments), the HTC desire is getting rave reviews in the topic here at the moment.

Depends what your after, What do you NEED, what would you like?

For example: I know i NEED exchange support with calendar, contacts and email sync, so that rules the Nexus one would be out for me (i know there are add on apps, but i like nice simple features that are integrated well, and from what i have read about the apps .. they suck!), i like Windows Live Messenger, and a nice smooth interface .. So i went for the HD2 about new year

So what do you need in your phone?
Also depends what OS you like ..
Iphone
Android
Android with skin like HTCs Sense UI
Windows
Windows with Sense UI

Palm's all well and good, but their future is too unpredictable right now to buy one.

I'm just after something nice and easy to use with a decent touch screen...the OH has a vivaz and I don't get on with it.

Hadn't realised that a new one is on its way, may be worth hanging on a month and a half see if I get lucky and orange come up with the new version.

I have Android with my HTC Magic, upgraded to 8 gig. Android is very clever, very flexible, couldn't ask for a better phone.
