The ones pictured are not the same as the ones Russ was producing so I suspect they may be Reverie ones.

I have someone who is going to start work on producing moulds in the next couple of weeks. I will let the forum know when they are done.

I had some grp ones and to be honest they were not strong enough so i had them remade in steel.... the problem is where they are situated you naturally lean on them when working on the engine etc. I know the same thing happens with the carbon ones, ask Can Am Dave.

I decided to make my own - just a few quids worth of fibreglass and some time - being early retired, time is freely available!

If the results are pleasing then I will make some moulds and run some carbon ones off.

Hi yes i still have the moulds for the side scoops and have 3 orders for them but it is time that i don't have to produce them, the strength depends on the layers of fiberglass that you lay them with if you want light ones which everybody seems to want then there are 3 layers, but if you want more strength ( weight ) then I can lay them with further layers, its up to the individual requirements.
anybody interested in buying the moulds or ordering some side scoops, then please let me know, also if you would like thick or thin. thanks.
Regards Russell.
I would be interested, do you have any pics of the ones you produced in the past and a cost for the thick ones

Have there been any developments on this front?
I'm still more than a year away from purchasing anything like those side scoops, but I really want them, as soon as my GTR is finished.
So I'm quite interested on the developments. How much do the weigh?

We are having moulds made at present.
We have looked at the strength problem and have designed ours with a reinforced rolled edge to increase strength to the opening.

Having bought a pair off Russ, decided they were too thin/flimsy and had been moulded in two stages (no offence Russ) - now having own moulds made for stronger one piece side pods - hope to have first pair completed in black gel-coat finish by end July and will show at FOD on 8th Aug (though probably not yet fitted)! Will be very competetively priced (TBC)? Also have the pair Russ sold me if anybody wants them - ideally at same price I paid Russ. See you at the FOD.

The later side scoops that I produced are one piece, I had the moulds professionally made. The thickness depends on the amount of matting layers you lay up, if you put one thick layer in you have to make sure that there is no air trapped, and the matting sits in the mould correctly around the edges, so putting thin layers in and building it up produces a better finished item, I used 4 layers of matting which I was happy with for my car, so I produced them to the same spec,(22 sets sold) there was never a problem with splitting, except for 3 that has just been brought to my attn, I never had a problem, but there again I wasn't leaning against the car to fiddle with it, as I used to drive and enjoy my car, and I would take more care if the occasion did arrise.

The moulds are for sale in classifieds, NOW !! (not thinking about having a set made, or waiting for them to be made) so you can make them to what ever thickness you like !

these are moulds taken from the Reveria ones and I never had any issues with them flexing/cracking, of cause the reveria ones have internal mouldings as well so are almost certainly stronger (massivelly expensive tho IMHO)... if you stand on them I can imagine they would be an issue but then so would any of the body panels!
