The TV takes ages to switch on

I have a 26" LG LCD TV which is about 3 years old. It now takes ages to 'warm-up'. I have resorted to switching it on and off until a picture appears. Often lots of different coloured vertical lines appear before the picture appears. Once it has warmed up there are no probs. Any suggestions?

They are known for edge connector issues, its a job for the repair man.
