good anti virus

can anyone reccommend a good antivirus program for around £50? i had a look at pc world but was a bit lost with all the options(they had 5 pages worth )i mostly use the computer for ph and a bit of online games, so i want one which has the most protection for that

I've seen Grisoft around but didn't know it was free. If it's that good, why does anyone buy Norton etc, and how does Grisoft make their money?

Free version is also limited next to the paid-for one - no file disinfection for a start, it'll only let you delete or quarantine an infected file.

Will grisoft fully protect as my Norton AV? Does seem a good alternative if it does.
