good anti virus

can anyone reccommend a good antivirus program for around £50? i had a look at pc world but was a bit lost with all the options(they had 5 pages worth
)i mostly use the computer for ph and a bit of online games, so i want one which has the most protection for that

Will grisoft fully protect as my Norton AV? Does seem a good alternative if it does.
