My MacBook is up a creek!
Split tea on the trackpad yesterday. Cleaned it up and all seemed to be fine. Now today the physical click doesn't work, but the tap command is ok. This meant I couldn't click and drag. So I went into system preferences to see if the settings had somehow changed.
Now this is the stupid bit, in my desperation to find a solution, I turned the 'tap' command off. But I can't turn it back on and am effectively without a mouse. Any ideas to fix this

st. Plug a mouse in via USB would work I guess. Seems pretty obvious tongue out

Wont solve the click function but will probs mean u can tap to click again.

How'd you manage that? Surely once you change the settings, you have to click "ok"?

Plugging a mouse in is the only option i can think of.

Thanks. I presume a normal pc mouse will work, I'm not gonna have to fork out for an apple one?
I don't know how I managed to apply the settings. Perhaps I pressed enter as opposed to click

Do you have an iphone?

Download 'Air Mouse' from the app store, Turns your iPhone into a wireless trackpad. might save you getting a mouse.

I'd just pikey one from work for a few minutes.

Is it the previous shape of MacBook? I'd never advise it of course but there's a common problem with them cracking like this...

Usually just from normal wear and tear or being closed firmly. Last time mine went Apple advised me that cracked top cases were now covered 'for life'. The top case includes the keyboard and trackpad and usually only takes the Apple store an hour or so to swap.
