I'm looking to replace the saddle on my felt compulsion 2 from the standard Felt one. It's not that bad, gets a bit uncomfortable on longer rides though and it doesn't have much of a groove / cutaway in it, plus I just fancy adding some new stuff to the bike now I've had it a few weeks to make it a bit nicer in terms of setup, so this week I'm tackling saddle, bars and stem and a couple of other bits.
I've not bought an aftermarket saddle in years, the last one I did buy wasa Selle Italia which wasn't bad at all, and there's a couple of theirs available at the minute I'm tempted by. I've heard a few people on here and elsewhere mention the Belair ones, but I've also read a lot of people moaning about them coming apart and creaking an awful lot, anyone experienced this?
Wouldn't mind some recommendations. I tend to do a bit of everything on the felt terrain / distance wise, some mild DH and XC, and some longer rides on less technical trails, even a bit of road riding. So I'm looking for a more DH/XC orientated all rounder I suppose. Needs to have a cutaway or at least a decent groove channel in it (can't be having barse-ache or tingly knackers).
So, Selle, BelAir or something else?

"Would the Bel-Air RL be a significant upgrade over the Claud Butler Cape Wrath original?"
I would think so but not having tried this one couldn't be sure. In theory the more you pay the better you get but with saddles that's not always the case, best advice is try one if at all possible. I'd say that SDG and WTB probably do the best mtb saddles but it's your bum that will have the final say, so to speak. Plus, a saddle sometimes takes a bit of time to bed in.

I'll be able to comment myself soon, just about to test my new Bel Air...
