Morning all.

I've got to exchange my MacBook Pro for the newer version, and so I've done a Time Machine backup of everything.

Does it include all the apps etc and settings?

You can tell it exactly what to include and not to.
Go System Prefs>Time Machine and then you can remove files you don't want to back-up. smile

Store exchange or new one being delivered?
If the latter, then you can connect the existing MBP to the new one, and let the new one copy over all the User info and files, etc.
Migration Assistant should be offered as you go through the early part of the first start up process.

It's a store exchange.

What I'll do is wipe the one I'm taken back once I've taken a last Time Machine backup.

I'll go get my new one, and then restore from the Time Machine backup.

That's right isn't it?

I have always used Superduper to clone my Mac HD, works for me every time and it's free, although I did pay the sub to open up a few more features. May be worth doing this as well as a TM back-up...just in case!
