bmw oil light keeps coming on

having problems with the yellow engine light comin on from cold even though oil is top up to the max ??? hope peeps can help perhaps faulty sensor?.

Yup, had that, new sensor wasn't too much though.

Not quite as easy as that as it's on the sump.
Are you planning an oil change too ? If not then wait until the next service and don't rely on the light.

Yeah you need to drain the oil to change it. Unless the connector (on the bottom of the sump) has come loose or something.

Also the pattern parts have a repuation for failing early.. I changed mine 18 months ago with a GSF part and it failed recently. OEM next time..

thanks peeps ive managed with it for nearly 9 months just checked the level now and again but will defo order a oem part just before nx oil change many thanks again.
